new A Lily remix available now
I remixed with Cokiyu’s delightful ‘Round In Fog’ for her new album Your Thorn [remixes].
Have a listen to my thing below, and buy the remix LP here. The remix record also features Shigeto, Opiate and the Remote Viewer.
As a personal rule, my remix only features material taken from the original track.

I am VERY excited about this show.
We’re playing as a six-piece with harp, vibraphone and a tonne of vocal harmonies.

Day 01
My favourite song:
I made it to the end of the 30-day song challenge…
Day 02
My least favorite song:
Why would I listen to my “least favourite” song…?
I’ve picked the song I use as my alarm clock. I don’t dislike the music, but it reminds me of early morning starts and makes me pretty nauseous.
Some better photos from the Sparrow in the Lemon...
With thanks to Lauren
Day 03
A song that makes me happy:
Day 04
A song that makes me sad:
There’s probably sadder songs in the world, but this is what sprung to mind. As might be obvious, I’m doing a lot of this “off the cuff”.
Day 05
A song that reminds me of someone
This was my little sister’s favourite song when we were younger
Day 06
A song that reminds me of somewhere:
We opened for Yo La Tengo in Taipei. Watching one of my favourite bands play on the top of a mountain in the middle of the night was really something.
Day 07
A song that reminds me of a certain event:
Someone played this when yh last toured in the States - we tried to sing along like that scene in Almost Famous, but none of us knew enough of the lyrics.
Day 08
A song I know all the words to:
Not really. Olly from yh does, though.
Show cancellation
Sorry everyone, had to pull the upcoming Ra Ra Riot show - wasn’t able to book in everyone I needed to play in time.
Return. Soon.
Day 09
A song that I like to dance to:
Reeaaally slowly
Day 10
A song that makes me fall asleep:
Apparently
Video filming finished
…after long, serious hard work. Links coming soon.
Day 11
A song from my favourite band:
I don’t really have a favourite band, so how about just what I’m listening to right now.
Day 12
A song from a band I hate:
As with a lot of the other days, it’s definitely a stretch to suggest that I hate Rod Stewart. I mean, I hardly know him. But, what a song.

Day 13
A song that is a guilty pleasure:
Josh / OBTN makes me feel guilty
Day 14
A song that no one would expect me to love
I mean, I don’t love this, but I find it mildly interesting enough to warrant listening to it…and I don’t think that would be very much “expected” of me…
Day 15
A song that describes me:
Actually I had a different one in mind, but in honour of Poly’s passing and of the song itself, here’s The X Ray Spex
Day 16
A song I used to love but now hate:
Korn were my first ever “favourite band”. I still have a lot of time for their first two records, but I revisited this one recently and wondered how I ever enjoyed it.
Day 17
A song I hear often on the radio:
And I enjoy it every time
Day 18
A song I wish I heard on the radio
Admittedly, I don’t listen to jazz radio, so probably miss any radio play this gets, but I’d be happy to stumble across this on a drive somewhere.
p.s. this is also a contender for favourite album
Day 19
A song from my favourite album:
I wouldn’t really care to pick a “favourite album”, but this would definitely be a contender if I was going to.
We were in the studio recently part II
We were in the studio recently
Day 20
A song I listen to when I’m angry
I dare anyone to be angry after listening to this
Day 21
A song I listen to when I’m happy:
These few day themes are pretty annoying, so I’m just using my favourite track of the moment.
Day 22
A song I listen to when I’m sad:
I don’t get sad, but if I did, I’d listen to this.
Day 23
A song I’d like played at my wedding:
And I’d like my bride to skateboard to the altar
Day 24
A song that I’d like played at my funeral:
As my coffin is carried forth by Stormtrooper pallbearers
Day 25
A song that makes me laugh:
Not sure why I’d listen to music that makes me laugh, but how good Slayer are makes me pretty happy.

Day 26
A song that I can play on an instrument:
This is an acoustic live version of the David Pajo cover that we’ll record in the studio over the coming days
Day 27
A song that I wish I could play:
Not that I play the sax, or would ever even attempt to play Trane…
Day 28
A song that makes me feel guilty:
When I was around 15, I started working on a cover of this song with the rest of yndi halda. We took breaks from rehearsing and shot my next-door neighbours’ milk bottles with my dad’s air rifle.
Day 29
A song from my childhood:
There was a time when nothing made me happier than hearing this piece of music. I still haven’t really outgrown it.
30 Days of Song
While I should be concentrating on an upcoming recording session (the live band versions of Kaiser and Bowser from the LP and our cover of David Pajo’s amazing track Who’s That Knocking? - music to follow soon), a friend told me about this:
day 01 - your favorite song day 02 - your least favorite song day 03 - a song that makes you happy day 04 - a song that makes you sad day 05 - a...
